Executive Director's Report

Mortgage Refinancing. Bob announced that the refinancing was finalized on November 25th, which means we no longer have a looming balloon payment in the next couple of years. This is a huge step for our nonprofit! The closing costs were a little high, but all is good. Tamara brought up Fritz's idea of saving the difference between what the bank wants for a monthly payment 1,600 and the usual payment of 2,300 in a savings account. This would be held for any big costs that might come up during the year.

Volunteers. We need a volunteer to check into insurance from a new non-profit corp. In fact, Bob needs volunteers in a number of different areas, especially since losing James Williams.

Building Community Book. The board discussed the second third of the "Empowerment on an Unstable Planet" book, with an eye towards how to apply its concepts to build greater community here. We will cover the third section of the book at the next board meeting.

Since there was no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4:20 pm.
